At The Korte Company, we’re bank designers and interior designers with experience in both architecture and construction.
Our Design-Build team has designed and constructed hundreds of facilities and have delivered on time and on budget for financial institutions across the U.S. In this bank design project, we saved our client money and time with build smart design solutions.
We designed and built the 10,009-square-foot Farm Credit Service building in Mount Vernon, Illinois. The facility has 12 offices, a 72-person meeting room, office space, file storage, a work area and an additional conference room.
The bank originally requested we place the large conference room in the basement. The Korte Company and Korte Design proposed placing the conference room on the ground level, eliminating the basement altogether. The site was large enough to accommodate the size of the building.
Our design saved Farm Credit Services $400,000 by eliminating the basement, an elevator, a second set of restrooms and two stairs. Through the design, we also provided better access to the 72-person meeting room and a larger, more attractive building footprint. An added plus, the bank wouldn’t need any elevator maintenance. This layout became the prototype for Farm Credit Service’s facilities in Sherman, Jerseyville, and Marion, Illinois.
On the exterior of the building, we used the standard Farm Credit Services material, reinforcing the brand image. The site includes concrete pavement, 56 parking spaces, a trash enclosure, and a storage building for the Farm Credit Services portable BBQ pit.
