The Korte Company successfully delivered the 40,750-square-foot Rocky Mountain Aviation Hangar at Henderson Executive Airport. This state-of-the-art facility features pre-engineered metal building frames, exterior structural studs with EIFS, a metal panel roof system, an aircraft access door, interior finishes, flatwork, and robust mechanical, plumbing, fire & life safety, and electrical systems.
The project included extensive site improvements, such as a new access road, aircraft ramp, taxilane, landscaping, and enhancements to the public right-of-way. The facility offers a reception area, offices, restrooms, a kitchen with laundry facilities, a fire pump room, an electrical room, storage space, a garage, and an onsite aviation fuel dispensing system.
Overcoming challenging caliche soil conditions, which complicated grading and underground utilities, the hangar features an 11-inch reinforced concrete slab. It also incorporates energy-efficient elements like evaporative coolers and skylights. Designed to meet the operational needs of Rocky Mountain Aviation and top executives of a prominent Las Vegas indoor sports team, the hangar stands as a testament to innovative and resilient construction.
