At the Korte Company, we’ve delivered a wide range of plant construction projects for some of the nation’s biggest manufacturers. This is one of our best builds, and it showcases some of our finest work.
Precoat Metals, a division of Sequa Corporation, supplies protective and decorative applied finishes to sheet steel in a continuous coil. They provide crucial materials for consumption by primary manufacturers of steel buildings, appliances, automobiles and diverse metal products. They selected us to design and construct their new their Metro-East Illinois manufacturing and storage facility in Granite City, Illinois using a pre-engineered building.
The facility has two 85-foot towers, each with a 41-foot clearance height to facilitate exit and entry to coil processing areas. In total, we installed four 20-ton cranes with a 60-foot span. Additionally, we used explosion-proof wall and roof fasteners in the designated chemical and paint storage areas. The 600-foot coating process line enables the plant to produce 200,000 tons of finished product per year, and the plant has its own waste and heat recovery system to conserve energy.
We proudly completed the initial structure 45 days ahead of schedule, and we’ve since designed and built two additions as well as a sewage treatment facility.
Our experienced team has completed more than 2,000 projects throughout the U.S., including facilities for our nation’s top producers. See some of our plant construction work or learn about the plant construction services we provide.
