The Korte Company and Joint-Venture partner Sheffield Construction, LLC, were awarded the 600-member Bowie Army Reserve Center (ARC) located near White Plains, Maryland.
The 90,000-square-foot Design-Build project included the design and construction of an ARC training facility (79,795 square feet), Organizational Maintenance Shop (5,703 square feet) and Unheated Storage Building (5,163 square feet).
The 15-acre site consolidates three existing Maryland Army Reserves Centers. Seventeen units in the 99th Army Reserve Group train at this location, with each unit representing approximately 200 reservists. The ARC is used for Army Reserves training as well as day-to-day activities. Additionally, the facility houses a recruitment and retention office.
The scope of work included site development including site work, utilities and Anti-Rerrorism/Force Protection, as well as other site improvements to support the development.
