Midcoast Aviation, founded in the mid-1980s, provided a unique service to the aviation industry with the design and installation of custom interior and avionics packages. With a worldwide customer base, delivery process and quality of work were the cornerstones of its success.
For over two decades, The Korte Company delivered multiple projects for Midcoast, including the original 80,000-square-foot hangar facility. The 40,000-square-foot hangar was large enough to accommodate commercial-size airliners such as the Boeing 757 as well as numerous narrow-body aircraft.
The remaining space was dedicated to in-house fabrication, engineering and design functions including on-site cabinetry, upholstery, composites, avionics, sheet metal and paint shops.
As the company’s capabilities and customer base expanded, The Korte Company continued to provide Midcoast with the necessary additions and renovations to keep pace with their capacity needs. The list of projects included additional hangar space, workshop renovations and expansions, and upgraded safety and fire suppression systems.
Not only did The Korte Company helps expand Midcoast’s facilities throughout the years, but when a tornado tore through the area on July 4, 2000, our team immediately assembled on site and repaired the roof damage to protect the hangar’s valuable assets.
