Renovation of the Union United Methodist Church continues the close relationship between the Union United Methodist congregation and The Korte Company. The Korte Company has been involved since 2000 in several renovations of the church and rebuilding of McKinley Hall after a 2004 fire.
The latest renovation involved the creation of a new gathering space into the sanctuary and child care center in the existing education building. Updates to the sanctuary and chancel included an expansion of the chancel area for the church’s multiple performances as well as interior finishes and lighting and sound systems.
A new canopy entry was added to the education building to welcome its congregation to the Gathering Space. The Korte Company also coordinated asbestos removal, expansion of a sprinkler system and an upgrade of the interior stairs to meet current codes. Despite a delayed start of several months, The Korte Company met the original deadline for completing the project in time for the Easter ceremony.
