As detailed in this month’s issue of the Illinois Business Journal, we’re wrapping up Design-Build healthcare construction services at Anderson Hospital in Maryville, Illinois. The $7.5 million vertical expansion marks another milestone in helping the healthcare campus increase their size from 120,000 square feet to 400,000 square feet, all of which has been executed throughout the past 20 years by The Korte Company.
This project follows a common trend we’re seeing (and even recently wrote about) in which healthcare companies and facility managers are focusing less on new hospital construction and more on renovations and expansions.
In fact, during this particular project, the building stayed occupied and in operation the entire time of construction. During the expansion, the roof was actually kept in place to ensure that the building would be kept weather tight, and the building’s mechanical systems were temporarily relocated keeping downtime to a minimum. The exterior of the building was constructed with a traditional brick veneer, seamlessly matching the look of the current buildings on the Anderson Hospital Campus.
