The Korte Company has delivered a number of Divisional Facilities for Hulcher Services Incorporated, a national services contractor to the railroad industry since 1963. As Hulcher expanded into other service sectors and geographic markets, additional facility locations were crucial to their success. Subsequently, the need for a long-term design-build partner became an integral part of their expansion strategy.
In 2004, The Korte Company completed a design-build project for Hulcher, a 32,103 square foot structure located in Hudson, Wisconsin. The Tilt-Up design featured 32,103 square feet of maintenance and repair space as well as 4,530 square feet of office and administrative space. Additionally, the facility included meeting and conference rooms, education space, driver reception and locker rooms. Sitework included asphalt parking for 59 vehicles as well as grading and landscaping.
Within twelve months, The Korte Company delivered a similar facility in Kansas City, Kansas and a renovation at an existing building in Olive Branch, Mississippi, totaling approximately 50,000 square feet of new construction and improvements for Hulcher.
Between 2006 and 2007, The Korte Company added another 72,000 square feet of new construction for Hulcher, divided between facilities in Sauget, Illinois and Saginaw, Texas. Similar to earlier projects, the newest design-build facilities featured both shop/maintenance areas we well as office and administration spaces. The scope of work also included site work, landscaping and asphalt parking space.
Currently, Hulcher Services maintains 30 divisions strategically located across the United States, Canada and Mexico. Each division is positioned to provide optimum response times and has its own dedicated staff of experienced personnel and specialized equipment.
