The Korte Company was recently awarded the Design-Build MQ-9 Ground Control Station (GCS) Operations Facility and Operations/Command Center Facility at Creech Air Force Base in Nevada.
Work included the demolition of three existing buildings and related utilities currently located at Creech Air Force Base. Construction consists of a 38,461 square foot, two-story MQ-9 Operations and Command Center and a 38,461 square foot, two-story MQ-9 Ground Control Station.
The Squadrons are comprised of approximately 183 personnel each. The facilities house (10) Block 50 cockpits, (4) Ground Control Station (GCS) simulators and (2) GCS spares and provide the capability to support sixteen fixed combat lines.
The facilities incorporate one large mass briefing room, various smaller briefing rooms, mission planning areas, weapons and tactics, intelligence and security office, data center, and flight commander offices to support the mission of the facility. Each building requires Secure and Certified Squadron Operations Center (SOC) requirements including raised access flooring, secure wall types and various STC requirements. SCIF accreditations and certificates are also required.
These facilities require redundant communications, power, and critical utility systems to ensure sustained 24/7 operations.
This project will comply with DOD antiterrorism/force protection requirements per Unified Facility Criteria 4-010-01.
