The Korte Company has come to the aid of a local family in need by helping build their dream home – a four bedroom, 1,240 square foot ranch style house – in only 37 days. The project is one of six “Blitz-Builds” conducted by Habitat for Humanity International. The new home is located near Pocahontas, Illinois, the hometown of country music star Gretchen Wilson. Wilson helped paint the house, which will be featured on County Music Television on August 22.
Tom Marti, an architect at The Korte Company and chairman of the Greater Highland Area Habitat for Humanity chapter, designed the house and directed the project by procurring equipment, materials, and organizing more than 30 Korte Company volunteers.
“The Korte Company is pleased to be involved in this nationally recognized Habitat for Humanity project,” said Todd Korte, President and CEO. “Featuring the build on County Music Television will mean excellent exposure for the Highland community.”
