In this Design-Build project, we built a new, 170-member Armed Forces Reserve Center for the United States Army Reserve on a 20-acre site in Fayette County, Pennsylvania. The complex consists of a Training Center, an Organizational Maintenance Shop, an Unheated Storage Building, a Personal Owned Vehicles parking lot, and a Military Equipment Parking lot.
The Training Center is a one-story, 30,858-square-foot facility. The Assembly Hall on the eastern side of the building has a high window for additional daylighting. For the exterior wall system, we used a site-cast, Tilt-Up concrete load-bearing wall system with thin brick and an architectural-style fiberglass shingled hip roof. At the main entrance, an iconic gable entry canopy is readily identifiable upon entering the site.
