The Naval Branch Health Clinic at Kings Bay is the primary care facility for all active-duty personnel and their families stationed at the base.
The facility houses outpatient healthcare including primary medical care (U.S. Navy Medical Home Port), immunizations, behavioral health, optometry, physical therapy, preventive medicine, radiology, dental, medical administration, undersea medicine and pharmacy.
Naval Facilities Engineering Systems Command awarded a contract to The Korte Company for the extensive renovation and modernization of an existing medical clinic located at Kings Bay, Georgia.
The 60,180-square-foot project included the complete removal and replacement of the clinic’s existing interiors. The scope of work also included the renovation of all interior partitions, finishes, plumbing, medical/dental gases, HVAC systems and electrical systems.
To accommodate the clinic’s need to remain operational throughout the two-year construction period, a seven-phase construction plan was developed that would allow the clinic to remain occupied and fully operational during the renovation. Infection control plans were also developed to protect patients, staff and visitors during all phases of construction.
