Earle M. Jorgensen (EMJ) Company once again turned to The Korte Company to expand their operations in Union, Missouri. As a valued repeat client, EMJ first partnered with The Korte Company in 2015 to build their original facility. And eight years later, they entrusted us with a 56,250-square-foot expansion to accommodate their growing needs. This continued partnership reflects The Korte Company’s ability to deliver quality projects and maintain strong client relationships — 84% of our business comes from returning customers.
The pre-engineered metal building addition includes a 1,000-square-foot office area featuring a large break room, storage rooms, a locker room and multiple workstations. The warehouse expansion consists of two bays, each equipped with two 10-ton cranes, significantly increasing the facility’s operational capacity. With this addition, the total warehouse area now spans 125,750 square feet.
Sitework for the project involved removing the existing asphalt drive and concrete storage pad to accommodate the expansion. The site was regraded, and new drives were installed, along with a concrete pad for relocated equipment and trailers. Utility work included a new electrical service and the extension of the fire main to support the larger facility.
This expansion nearly doubles EMJ’s warehouse space, reinforcing its ability to store and distribute metal products efficiently while ensuring the company remains equipped for future growth.
