In a joint venture with Charpie, The Korte Company constructed an 11,000-square-foot addition for the Troop Family Clinic near Hopkinsville, Kentucky. This project originally began as a 42,000-square-foot housing facility for the troop medical clinic and dental clinic.
The building has a full brick façade consisting of two tones of brown brick, a standing seam metal roof, and translucent panels at the lobby. The clinic addition seamlessly blends with the existing clinic. With the medical and dental clinics located around the central lobby space, support services surround the troop medical clinic. The family clinic is located in the addition on the west side of the building.
We’ve placed the dental clinic on the south side of the lobby space. The pharmacy opens to the central lobby and has three dispensing windows. The optometry clinic is located down the ancillary clinic corridor and includes a small, dedicated waiting area for patients.
The primary care clinic contains exam rooms, provider offices, medical treatment rooms, radiology room and physical therapy. An ambulance service loading zone at the back of the building is hidden from the public areas. The family clinic has exam rooms, provider offices, and a kid-friendly waiting and play area.
We proudly delivered this construction project with sustainability in mind, and the main building and addition have earned U.S. Green Building Council LEED Silver certification.
