The Korte Company once again partnered with the Highland Community Unit School District to deliver the Highland Middle School Expansion project. This initiative builds on the legacy of the original facility, winner of the prestigious Madigan Achievement Award in 1999. The expansion is designed to seamlessly integrate modern educational needs with the existing structure, ensuring a harmonious blend of innovation and tradition within the school’s framework.
This expansion features nine meticulously designed classrooms. Among these are four spacious general education classrooms, each equipped with cutting-edge technology. Additionally, two specialized science classrooms provide hands-on learning opportunities, fostering a passion for scientific inquiry. The project also includes two dedicated classrooms tailored for special education students, promoting inclusivity. A state-of-the-art vocational classroom adds a practical dimension to education, preparing students for real-world challenges and future careers.
In addition to classrooms, the expansion focuses on enhancing overall functionality. Two strategically located restrooms are integrated for convenience and hygiene, and 30 supplementary parking stalls are created to address the evolving needs of the school community. Together, these enhancements underscore our commitment to providing an inclusive, cutting-edge educational environment, shaping the future of learning in collaboration with the Highland Community Unit School District.
