At, The Korte Company, we’re a seasoned commercial construction company. Our team of architects, builders, surveyors, designers and construction managers has delivered more than 2,000 projects across the U.S., including many different commercial builds for developers, big companies and building tenants. In this commercial build, we constructed a USGBC LEED Gold Certified building that holds our St. Louis headquarters.
The new building is four stories tall and holds almost 70,000 square feet of usable space. Retail occupies the first floor and office space takes up the upper three floors. The building exterior facing Highway 40 is a curving façade of continuous bands of windows and aluminum panels. The west façade has a sloping glass curtain wall that is the mirror image of the east wall of the Plaza One Building.
Together, the buildings flank the main entry into the office park. The balance of the building’s exterior is a combination of glass, brick and exterior insulated stucco. And we constructed a two-level, under parking garage attached on the south side with an upper parking deck on the same level as building’s first floor.
The building sits where the old Forest Park Highlands Amusement Park once stood as a St. Louis landmark. Its sloping, curved design pays homage to the old amusement park and the Comet roller coaster that caught people’s eyes for decades.
We’re proud to have served as general contractors for the build. We’ve also designed and built many other office buildings throughout the U.S., and you can l Learn more about our commercial construction company here.
