The Korte Company has delivered school construction projects of all shapes and sizes throughout the U.S. for a wide variety of educators. This school construction project in East St. Louis is one of our proudest moments. Through it, we’re contributing to the health, wellness and education of children in the St. Louis region — our home.
Jackie Joyner-Kersee’s dream of providing a safe haven for the youth of East St. Louis has become a reality. The Korte Company was selected as the construction manager to fulfill her dream. The first phase of the JJK Boys & Girls Club included the construction of a 40,949-square-foot facility. This youth center includes a computer lab, a science lab, a library, tutoring and study rooms, a band room,a dance room, a weight room, a self-defense area, and a gymnasium for basketball and volleyball.
Under the auspices of the Boys and Girls Clubs of America, the JJK Youth Center Foundation will provide programs including athletics, educational employment and cultural enrichment. We’re proud that this construction received the Masonry Institue of St. Louis: 2000 Excellence in Masonry Award.
We’ve also delivered school construction projects throughout the U.S. and completed youth center design and construction projects as well.
