The 40-year-old existing facility underwent a thorough renovation to align with Knapheide’s standards. Interior enhancements encompassed updated finishes, featuring exposed grinded concrete floors, gypsum board walls, new ceilings, and interior doors.
The interior design embraced Knapheide’s color standards and introduced new accessible restrooms, LED lighting, electrical and low voltage wiring, wall monitors, and mechanical grilles.
The new office spaces, furnished with a modern furniture system, were crafted to offer additional open offices, a conference room, larger break rooms, and a new service desk in the showroom. The exterior walls and freshly refinished standing seam metal roof were revamped to match Knapheide’s color standards. Additionally, all existing windows were replaced with new aluminum windows.
The project’s scope extended to an expansion and renovation within the existing shop area, tailored to accommodate multiple cranes, new overhead doors, lighting, additional HVAC equipment, and station posts at each bay. The additional cranes and their installation required ground improvement through Rigid Inclusion Piers and Helical Piles.
Work on the remaining area of the undeveloped site used for equipment storage entailed installing new fencing, site lighting, and replacing the existing well water source with city water service.
Construction schedules were meticulously planned to minimize disruptions, ensuring continuous operations throughout the renovation process.
