At The Korte Company, we’re an experienced Design-Build team of architects, builders, surveyors and construction management professionals. We’ve designed and built a wide array of facilities across the U.S. Our multidisciplined team has delivered some of the biggest construction projects in the country, and we’re well versed in theme park construction. Building Universal Studios in Orlando, Florida is one of the crowning achievements in our storied history.
The Korte Company was one of five general contractors selected to build the new Universal Studios theme park. The Korte Company’s project, titled “The Front Lot,” involved the construction of seven separate buildings. We built the Universal Studios Administration Building, the Ticket Plaza Building, The Universal Studios Store, Movie Memorabilia, a toll booth plaza, kennels, and a two-story building that holds a bank, a café, photography and stroller rentals.
Area development included the main entry plaza, with the iconic Globe Fountain, VIP Plaza and extensive decorative concrete. Prior to the contract award, we worked directly with Universal Studios, applying value engineering to reduce project cost and bring the build within their budget.
Founded in 1958, we’re one of the most experienced construction companies in the nation, and we’re nimble theme park builders. There’s no build too big or small.
