The 32,000-square-foot outpatient clinic in Lake Charles, Louisiana was awarded to The Korte Company through the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA). The comprehensive design included multiple clinic suites and services for primary care, nutrition, internal medicine, psychiatry, women’s health and physical therapy.
It was imperative to the Korte Design-Build team that the facility provides veterans with a health care facility that would facilitate the caliber of care they deserve. The design utilizes ample daylighting throughout to provide both a positive healing atmosphere as well as significant energy savings.
Prior to the start of new construction, demolition of the existing building and extensive site work was required. Site paving, landscaping, new parking areas and utilities were also included in the scope of work.
The facility earned U.S. Green Building Council LEED Silver certification, designed to provide a comforting and efficient space for both staff and patients.
