At The Korte Company, our experienced team has delivered more than 19 million square feet of warehouse space for companies throughout the United States. This is one of many warehouse expansion projects we’ve completed.
This distribution center addition was the fourth major project that we completed for The Walgreen Company. We built an addition to the existing distribution center that includes offices, mezzanines, warehouse space and a conveyor support system. The project also included renovation to the locker room and mezzanines in the existing facility.
The major challenge we faced was keeping the existing facility operational while integrating the expansion into the sophisticated, automatic sorting and picking system. And we got the job done without disrupting Walgreens’ distribution efforts.
We also constructed the original 448,000-square-foot facility in 1990.
