The Walgreen Company selected Korte to design and construct a state-of-the-art high bay warehouse addition for one of its largest distribution centers in the country.
The addition was designed to accommodate narrow-aisle, 50-foot-tall racks and over 9 miles of automated conveyors. The facility also has two levels of storage mezzanines above the dock area.
The warehouse’s floor slab finish meets stringent criteria for strength and 100-level floor flatness to support the high-bay lift trucks that move between the racks. The project team also re-routed the stormwater system and added new parking areas, a water storage tank, fire loop, pump house and electrical service.
