The Walgreen Company partnered with The Korte Company to design and construct a 180,600-square-foot addition to an existing facility in Woodland, California.
Our project team increased the total facility square footage to 529,687 square feet. The addition has a required clear height of 50 feet to the underside of the roof structure but also includes 59,200 square feet of mezzanine space. We installed super-flat floor slabs to accommodate The Walgreen Company’s high racking equipment and automated picking system.
The exterior façade uses many different materials, textures and colors to create a California aesthetic style. It consists of four integral colors of split-faced and smooth-faced concrete block and six pre-finished ribbed and smooth metal wall panels. The interior consists of a warehouse, a receiving office, an employee lunchroom, a maintenance area and a second-floor open office area with conference rooms.
In addition to the expansion project, we remodeled much of the existing building, including a tote wash area, employee locker rooms and administrative offices.
This is one of many projects we’ve delivered for The Walgreen Company nationwide. Learn more about distribution construction at The Korte Company.
