b'MINDY KEISER ALWAYS KNOWS WHERE TO LOOKMindy first joined our Highland
office when she was in high school. Back then, she answered phones over
the lunch hour. Shy and soft-spoken, that task felt daunting but she did
it anyway. These days, she still spends a lot of time on the phone, but her
focus has evolved. As an estimator, she evaluates scopes of work, follows
up on bids and forecasts the overall costs of every project. Theres a
story hidden in those numbers, and its her job to find it.Theres nothing
like construction work. Its nice seeing all of it come together, being
able to see the building.Thats the thing about construction estimators.
People like Mindy must reverse-engineer future buildings into budgets and
then translate real-life needs onto paper. Its the first step of turning
an empty plot of land into a church, or military hangar, or hospital. One
of her favorite projects to date is the Anderson Hospital Physicians
Office Building Goshen Campus expansion because it was one of the largest
projects shes ever handled as an estimator. I feel like Im learning every
day. Every project is differentdifferent locations, different types of
buildings, different ways of construction, different subs and different
areas handle different scopes differently. Every day is different. Each day
offers new challenges and opportunities, but her proficiency remains
constant. In a world of variables, Mindy is as steady as they come,
growing with every experience.75'
