b'BUILDING VEGAS STRONGVegas Strong is more than resilienceits the
backbone of this city. At the Joint Emergency Training Institute, that
strength is forged and tested. First responders stand shoulder to
shoulder, preparing for the hardest days and the unthinkable moments. Its
here that courage is sharpened, trust is built and lives are saved. When
the call comes, Las Vegas stands ready. The Joint Emergency Training
Institute (JETI) was built to prepare Nevadas first responders for the
unthinkable. Planning began before the tragedy of October 1, 2017, but
that night underscored its need. Phase 1 delivered nearly 270,000 square
feet, including the Joseph Lombardo Building with classrooms, mat rooms
and secure weapon storageall completed despite the disruptions of COVID-19
and complex site challenges.Phase 2 raised the bar with the
105,000-square-foot Reality-Based Training Facility, a tactical village of
urban streetscapes and residential structures. Here, officers,
firefighters and medics rehearse scenarios from active shooter drills to
disaster response.Dedicated to Detective Steve Scholl, the JETI stands as
a commitment to service and constant improvement.36 37'
