b'FIRE STATION 51Fire Station 51 served the North Las Vegas community with
pride since opening its doors March 4, 1974. Its final day of service came
Jan. 15, 2025, closing a proud chapter in the citys history. In its place
now stands a new, 14,837-square-foot fire station. It continues the
stations legacy of service while meeting the growing citys needs for years
to come. The station should be back in service by summer 2026.Fire and EMS
services remain active, responding from nearby North Las Vegas stations.
While the original station is no more, the spirit of service that lived
within its walls endures. Its in the hearts of every firefighter and in
the lives of those they protect. North Las Vegas is grateful to the
members of Fire Station 51, past and present, for their unwavering
dedication and sacrifice.The Korte Company was proud to oversee the
demolition, site preparation and construction of the new Fire Station 51.
It ensures the legacy of service built over 50 years continues to stand
strong.UNLV HUMAN CAPABILITY LABThe Paul McDermott Physical Education
Buildings previously unused space is now the Human Capability Lab at the
University of Nevada, Las Vegas. The 800-square-foot biomechanics research
space opened in the fall of 2025. The upgraded facility supports
collaboration across kinesiology, engineering and rehabilitation sciences.
Students and researchers have access to motion capture systems,
floor-embedded force plates and high-speed video technology. This helps
them study how people move, recover and perform.50 51'
